Guitar Lessons

Learn to play guitar from a talented, fun instructor who has the skills, a whole lot of patience, and a genuine passion for music and teaching!

Get ready to be the star of your camping trip this year and learn how to play guitar. Joe teaches many styles of playing. From strumming acoustic, learning to jam out rock and blues on the electric guitar, to classical studies with exam preparation for the Royal Conservatory of Music, "anyone with a will to learn and a love for music can be taught!"

Joe Abbott has completed his Grade 8 Guitar, RCM with honors and is currently working towards his ARCT through the Royal Conservatory. He performs a variety of classical guitar styles for many events and strives to keep a strong repertoire alive to encourage his students. One particular student received the highest grade in Ontario on his Grade 2 Guitar Exam last year, the "Silver Medal". Way to go Tim!

Joe has been playing in bands with an emphasis on blues rock for years. He loves to teach students the art of jamming and pass on the required knowledge with a practical, inspiring approach. This is a skill students will appreciate forever, thus allowing them the chance to play in bands and together on the weekend!

Each year, the students work towards a "recital" in a local restaurant as part of the Barrie Jazz and Blues Fest! Family and friends are encouraged to come watch and listen as students share the music they've learned and build their self confidence in a positive, real life musical setting!

  • " After hearing Joe play at a venue I checked out his site and noticed that he offered lessons, he was well priced in the industry and a great teacher. You can tell he teaches from the heart and I was able to learn quick. I now appreciate playing so much, what an awesome skill. "
